Charlotte, N.C. industrialist and crusader for education. Born December 12, 1902 in Newport, Tenn. During his childhood, his family moved to Charlotte, N.C. Earned B.S. in electrical engineering from UNC-Chapel Hill, 1925. Joined Charlotte firm of R.H. Bouligny Company the same year. Named vice-president in 1931 and president in 1966. Rowe reorganized the Company to form Rowe Corporation with R.H. Bouligny as a subsidiary. Retired as president of Rowe Corporation in 1985...
